International Trade Application (ITA)

Logistics & International Shipping Custom Software

A role-aware operations platform that runs an entire international shipping business — intake, warehousing, customs, billing, and collection — on one connected system across every location that touches a package.

Overview

The International Trade Application (ITA) is a desktop operations platform used every day across a Miami consolidation warehouse and a network of Jamaica branch stores. Every customer, package, manifest, invoice, receipt, audit, and staff record lives in one cloud database, kept current in real time for every location that touches it.

Staff see only the modules their role permits. Sensitive actions — discounts, account zeroing, restricted overrides — require supervisor authorization and leave a permanent record of who did what, when, and why.

The same deployment serves more than one shipping brand: shared business rules route each signed-in user to the correct customer, package, manifest, and store records, so separate operations run side by side without separate installations or duplicated data.

The challenge

International shipping runs on a chain of dependent workflows: intake, consolidation, manifesting, customs, arrival scanning, billing, and collection. Most operators stitch these together from spreadsheets, standalone tools, and manual handoffs. Data drifts between systems, sensitive financial actions happen without guardrails, and no one has a single reliable answer to where a package — or a customer balance — actually stands.

What we did

FIWB Solutions built the International Trade Application (ITA): a role-aware operations platform that runs the full package lifecycle, the money that follows it, and the people who touch it — from one system, on one live data set, with authorization enforced at every sensitive step.

Our approach

We modeled the real operation first — how a package physically moves from a Miami shelf to a customer's hands in Jamaica, and what has to be true financially at each step — then built the software around it. Authorization, pricing, and workflow rules were centralized into dedicated policy layers beneath the screens rather than scattered through them, so a discount rule, a tariff calculation, or a permission check behaves identically everywhere and changes in one place as the business evolves.

What makes it different

ITA doesn't stop at tracking packages — it enforces how the business runs. Pricing, permissions, discounts, and status transitions are governed by a central rules layer, so the same policy applies whether a package is labelled in Miami, received at a branch store, or settled at a cashier window. Off-the-shelf logistics tools track. ITA controls.

How it scales

The system is partitioned by business, not hard-coded to one. A single deployment already runs multiple shipping brands with fully separate customer, package, manifest, and store records, and the same architecture extends to additional companies, warehouses, branch locations, and destination markets without a second installation.

The outcome

ITA is in active daily production use, running live shipping operations across two countries.

Staff work from a single screen instead of several disconnected systems. Sensitive financial actions carry enforced authorization and a permanent audit trail. Management can see operational, financial, and customer performance without assembling reports by hand.

Adding a branch, a warehouse, or an entire business brand is a configuration exercise — not a rebuild.

One system that runs the whole operation — every package, every dollar, and every person who touches them.
