Custom Websites and Web Apps That Earn Their Keep

A custom website should do more than exist. We build responsive, fast, accessible sites and web applications, from marketing sites that rank and convert to logged in platforms your customers use daily, with SEO fundamentals and performance built in from the first commit.

There are two very different jobs people mean by the word website. One is the site that has to be found, understood, and acted on, where speed, structure, and search visibility decide whether it works. The other is the web application behind a login, where the job is doing real work: accounts, records, uploads, approvals, reporting. We build both, and the difference matters, because a template that flatters a brochure site will fight you the moment it needs to hold an actual workflow.

Either way the fundamentals are not optional extras. Pages are server rendered or prerendered so crawlers and social previews see real content rather than an empty shell. Metadata, canonicals, structured data, and sitemaps are generated from one source so they cannot drift apart. Layouts are mobile first and tested against WCAG accessibility guidance, because the visitors you lose to a broken small screen layout are invisible in your analytics.

Every engagement starts with discovery, where we learn the workflow, the people using it, and what breaks today. From there we move through planning, build, launch, and ongoing support.

Web Development questions

Can you build a custom website rather than use a template?

That is the default. Templates are quick to stand up and slow to change, because every customisation fights assumptions the theme already made. We build to your brand and your content structure, which costs more at the start and less every time you need it to do something new.

Will the site be optimised for search engines?

The technical half, yes, and it is built in rather than bolted on: crawlable prerendered HTML, unique titles and descriptions per page, canonical URLs, generated sitemaps, structured data, and performance work. The other half is content and reputation over time. We will tell you honestly which of the two is holding you back.

How long does a website take to build?

A focused marketing site typically runs 4 to 8 weeks depending on page count and how ready the content is. A web application with accounts, data, and integrations runs longer, usually 3 to 6 months. Content readiness is the single biggest factor in whether a site lands on schedule.

Can you rebuild our existing site without losing our rankings?

Yes, and it needs deliberate handling: URL mapping, redirects for anything that moves, preserved metadata and structured data, and a crawl comparison before and after launch. Rebuilds lose rankings when redirects are an afterthought, not because rebuilding is inherently risky.

Do you handle hosting and ongoing maintenance?

We do. Sites can be deployed to your infrastructure or to a managed platform, and we offer maintenance plans covering updates, security patching, monitoring, and improvements. You can also take full ownership and host it yourself, because the code is yours.
